- About the project CEOS:
The City Energy Optimization Solutions (CEOS – GA 101167707) project, which commenced in December 2024 with a duration of three years (funded from LIFE_CET_PDA_2023 program), aims to enhance energy efficiency across various municipal infrastructures. Its primary objective is to mature energy upgrade projects for municipal buildings and pumping stations. As part of the project, energy and technical studies are being conducted, along with support in securing funding for the implementation of targeted interventions to reduce energy consumption and integrate Renewable Energy Sources (RES) to improve overall energy performance.
The project includes key steps such as assessing the current condition of the selected infrastructures, designing and studying the necessary interventions to reduce energy consumption, while also exploring financing opportunities from community, national, or private sources. Key Features of the project:
- Customized Improvement Plans:
The project develops customized plans to improve energy efficiency and promote the use of renewable energy sources. These plans include technical and economic studies, as well as support for finding funding and for competitive procedures.
- Management Plans and Emission Reduction Plans (for municipalities participating as partners):
This includes the creation of detailed management plans and Municipal Emission Reduction Plans (MERP), which help municipalities organize their strategy for sustainable energy development. Reducing energy consumption contributes to a 20% annual reduction in CO₂ emissions, promoting environmental sustainability and enhancing efforts to address climate change.
- Training and Engagement of Local Authorities:
CEOS emphasizes the training of local authorities and stakeholders. It ensures that municipalities and other interested parties have the necessary knowledge and resources to lead to long-term improvements in energy efficiency.
- Promotion of Best Practices:
Through the dissemination of project results and best practices, CEOS contributes to the development of processes and plans in municipalities, aiming to enhance the energy upgrading of municipal infrastructure.
